Gentle Monster’s ‘Once Upon a Future’ Comes With Dark and Disturbing Visuals [Watch]

In a capsule collection comprised of super sharp Matrix-y frames, an almost CD-looking disc lens that covers the whole face, and everything you can imagine that fits in between, Gentle Monster are looking at a future where aliens and humans coexist. You may have picked up on some of the pieces in Xander Zhou’s similarly distopian collection last week at LFW mens.

To further explore the idea, Rei Nadal came on to direct some visuals with Xander Zhou that have us feeling all kinds of ways (unnerved!). In it, we see a face mask application that is going to haunt our self-care dreams for life; flickering lights that definitely do not imply good news; and some very uncomfortable reaching into someone else’s pocket.
