A Parrot And A Lizard Star In New Y/Project Campaign
Totally wild.
Y/Project always knows how to make a statement. For SS19, the brand enlisted their friends to star in their latest campaign — oh, and also a giant lizard and parrot. Shot by frequent collaborator Arnaud Lajeunie in different locations around Paris, the imagery “is a celebration of the people we love, focusing on their individuality, pushing their personal colour,” according to creative director Glenn Martens.
“We always shoot people we love, people who mattered in the process of creating the brand,” he continued. I wonder what the parrot and lizard did in helping with this collection?
The campaign also includes a grid embedded within the natural Parisian backgrounds, meant to represent each model and their individual personalities.
As for the collection, Martens expanded on the theme of individuality, expressing: “Certain brands push the army effect, they’re great at it. We try to do the opposite. For me, clothes should emphasise one’s personality. That’s why our catwalk is so eclectic.”
