So Lana Del Rey Released A Double Music Video And We’re Gagging
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We’re just about a week away from Norman Fucking Rockwell, and Lana Del Rey is keeping us on our Norman Fucking Toes. Just a few weeks after releasing a trailer for the album and its 60s surfer girl cover art, the singer has blessed us with a double music video for two stellar tracks, ‘Fuck It I Love You’ and ‘The Greatest’.
Directed by Rich Lee, the videos sees Lana looking spectacular in her *new* brand of vintage-meets-Venice Bitch style, all 60s cat eyes and updos with ‘Locals Only’ track jackets. She paints looking lovelorn, changes music in a jukebox, mixes some drinks, rides a boat by herself, stands on some kind of architectural structure… it’s perfect.
And the songs!?!? I mean…. What. The. Fuck. ‘Fuck It I Love You’ is a classic early Lana ballad filled with dangerous love motifs and drugs (and ‘fucks’ — there’s a whole lot of ’em on this pop album), while ‘The Greatest’ is a cutting cultural commentary infused with 70s rock guitars that touches on clout, livestreams, aliens, and Kanye going blonde. As she puts it: “The culture is lit and I’ve had a ball/If this is it, Im singing off after all.”
Chills.
