Prada For Adidas Is Here And We’ve Got Damn Fine Visuals
Collab of the year.
A couple of weeks ago Prada and adidas teased the collab of the year, aka PRADIDAS, and ya’ll went mad for the intel — “A joint passion for the universe of sport is at the heart of this creative partnership,” they said, to which stans of the iconic brands let out nothing shy of high-pitched squeals. Guess what, folks? We’ve now got visuals on the first release.
But first, more facts: Prada for adidas Limited Edition brings together two memorable styles — the Superstar sneaker, originally launched in 1969 but brought into our zeitgeist via Avril Lavigne, and Prada’s brilliant bowling bag, which has been dipped in the flavour of the adidas gym bag.
“The Prada Superstar and the Prada Bowling bag for adidas are proposed together,” the press release reads. “Every piece is made in Italy by Prada, indicating the superlative quality synonymous with the brand and its inimitable expertise in accessories and 106-year history as a luxury leather goods house.
“A partnership about manufacturing, a salute to the 50 years of the Superstar, an impeccable style icon – which does not require being re-designed – having crossed boundaries and challenged definitions through five decades.” And so it is.
And this is how it really culminates as a collab: the Superstar sneakers are translated using Prada’s full-grain leather for the upper with the signature adidas Originals rubber shell toe, finished with a herringbone-pattern rubber cupsole, serrated triple-stripe and a Trefoil logo-pint on the heel, alongside the Prada logotype. The Prada Bowling bag for adidas is executed in superior calf leather with a sports nylon strap, the chassis of the bag bearing the twinned logos of Prada and adidas Originals. Both appear in fresh as heck white.
The duo retails online through adidas.com and prada.com, and at selected Prada stores worldwide from December 4, 2019 — available for both men and women, in edition of 700, each with their own unique serial number. We bags 69 and 420, don’t even try.
