You Can’t Spell Christmas Without Macaulay Culkin… And His New Sock Collab
“This is my holiday, I have to defend it.”
Halloween literally just ended, so of course that means Christmas is happening. Thanks, industrial capitalist machine. But if there’s one thing that will never change, it’s Christmas and Macaulay Culkin. Name a more iconic duo… we’ll wait.
Ever since his days as Kevin McAllister in Home Alone, the actor has been the de facto poster boy for dysfunctional family holiday drama, and what’s Christmas without some fighting? Or celebrity-endorsed holiday gifts?
This season, Macaulay has decided to jump on the bandwagon, mostly because he needs the money… or, at least that’s what he said via the press release. Teaming up with Happy Socks, Mack has designed a line of bunny-filled Christmas stockings — not the kind for your fireplace, but your IRL feet.
The socks come in three different colourways, and are covered in bunnies. But the promo video is the real Christmas gift here. In it, Macaulay sits in a small wooden chair, pets an iguana (wearing chipped red nail polish, natch) and makes his iconic Kevin McAllister face, before admitting he’s “too old for this shit.”
Probably true.
Either way, we can’t help but love the filthy animal. After all, you can mess with a lot of things, but you can’t mess with Macaulay Culkin on Christmas… no matter how old he is.
