Acne Pre-Fall 12 Lookbook
Metallic leather, chained belts and transparent plastic.
We fanned out over the Acne Resort collection, and now - no surprises - we are fanning out over the latest Pre-Fall offering. This is the most trend-driven collection we've seen so far from the Swedish label but that's not a bad thing. As far as references go, there's nods to the mods, seen through the mini skirts and the transparent plastic on those boots and bags, which replace Acne's usual minimal leather accessories.
Seventies style also comes through in the sense of cropped flares, wide buckle belts and mules, while the nineties is alluded to with crinkled metallic leather and that one fur-trimmed floral coat in particular. Chained belts paint the collection with a misfit, mall-rat vibe. Garnering a cult following for their boots, this season they are wet-look, polished and patent, with the knee-high ones bound to become a sell-out and the hot pink pair a coveted favourite. Isn't Acne just so damn cool?
