Alexander Wang Faces $50 Million Lawsuit

For allegedly running a sweatshop in New York.

A $50 million lawsuit has been filed against Alexander Wang after it was discovered that the label has been running a sweatshop in New York. The NY Post reports that thirty workers at the factory, located at 386 Broadway in the city's Chinatown district, claim they were forced to carry out labour under appalling conditions in a "suffocating, windowless, 200-square-foot room" for more than 16 hours a day. Wenyu Lu, 56, says he fainted after working 25 hours without a break and was also threatened with dismissal if he didn't carry out his tasks, one of which included crafting a pair of leather pants in four hours, a quarter of the time this job would ordinarily take. Wenyu was fired last month when he applied for worker's compensation and complained about the conditions.

Alexander Wang, who earned $25 million last financial year, has not yet commented.
