Elke Kramer: Colour of Wind
A collection that has nothing to do with the Disney Pocohontas soundtrack.
Elke Kramer's Colour of Wind has nothing to do with the Disney Pocahontas soundtrack. Having been repeatedly forced by an overly zealous conductor to play 'Colours of the Wind' at Year 7 band camp, this is something that we are pleased about.
Rather, Colour of Wind is a continuation of Kramer's trademark geometric, Art Deco-inspired jewelry. The name derives from Bauhaus colour theorists Rothko and Almodova and takes inspiration from the way that colours and shapes can evoke visual poetry. Colours used in the collection include Moss Jade, Snake Jasper, Malachite and Night Breeze. Think warm, earthy colours in resin punctuated by brass and gold detailing. The shapes strike a balance between the man made and the natural. The Integrity necklace, for example, evokes turning cogs and mechanical parts, while the juicy baubles in the Clustered Visions ring could be mistaken for summer berries. Lantern shaped bracelets, made from resin beads and metal tubing, are softened by slinky silk scarves.
