Romance Was Born Concept Store
Romance Was Born and Kate Rohde bring a Jurassic Park rave to Paddington.
If a rave were to happen at Jurassic Park, Romance Was Born's Renaissance Dinosaur is probably what it would look like. The collection was full of glitter-encrusted talons, psychedelic jungle prints and rainbow-coloured fairy-floss hair plumed sky high. Conservative fashion minds were blown when a human volcano teetered down the runway. Said conservative fashion minds were offered some respite from the amazing crazies with the violin silk pants and singlet dresses, which tended more towards to the intellectual rather than prehistoric side of things.
Both the kitsch and classical instrument inspired are on display at a RWB pop-up store that has Melbourne artist Kate Rohde at the interior design helm. She's made six artworks in line with the Renaissance Dinosaur theme, including a fluffy Triceratops covered in fluorescent paint, oversized T-rex figurines and a terrarium filled with animal freaks called Crystalised Menagerie. The space also 8 kooky ornaments and furniture, with plastic foliage creeping around clothes and corners. Check it out for yourself at 4 Oxford St, Paddington before it goes extinct on Feburary 27.
