Backstage at Paris Men's Fashion Week
Louis Vuitton, Rick Owens, Givenchy & more.
We took you backstage at Milan, and now we're just casually hanging out with male models in Paris care of our photographer Sonny Vandevelde. Louis Vuitton used autumnal colours - warm camels, burgundy and navy - and unexpected fabrications like kangaroo fur, crocodile skin, and the finest silk in all the land. Rick Owens' collection had a sleek, sportswear leaning but there were still plenty of the label's signature voluminous silhouettes and monk-like jackets. Raf Simons' icon for Fall was perhaps a gangly teenage boy - reminiscent of a school uniform, blazers were teamed with knee-length shorts. Hermes was mostly monochrome with casual jackets sitting alongside formal suiting, and leather was key. Riccardo Tisci sent 'masculine skirts' down Givenchy's runway, worn over leather leggings, no less. The star was a running motif, indicative of an Americana inspiration while Dior was inspired by vintage military dress with its camo-green peaked hats, shin-length coats, utilitarian leather gloves and gumboot shoes.
