We prefer to consolidate our summer festival experience with a decent measure of cracking sideshows and Big Day Out 2012 will be no exception. We announced gigs yesterday for Big Day Outers Best Coast, Girl Talk, Foster The People, My Chemical Romance, Odd Future and Kitty, Daisy and Lewis. New York radicals Battles will be playing the Metro Theatre in Sydney on Monday January 23 and The Forum in Melbourne on Saturday January 28. Their newest video is truly supreme, especially if you love synchronised martial arts and ladies dressed as giant ice creams:
Festival favourites Kasabian are performing alongside The Vaccines at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Tuesday January 24 and at Festival Hall in Melbourne on Saturday January 28. Kasabian's album contains not only the name of a dinosaur but also an exclamation point, which is surely an indication of the good times to be had at their sideshows:
