Behind-The-Scenes with Meg Gray on Shakuhachi's Cruise Campaign

Flower power.

Shakuhachi has taken inspiration for Cruise 2012 from Roman Coppola's CQ; a pastel-saturated, sci-fi film romp through the 60s. Flower power graphic prints, retro crochet and metallic leathers fuse together in a palette of baby blues, pinks, and bright white, creating the fresh, summery and energetic collection that is 'I Want Candy'. It's no surprise that Vogue-alumni/Gray Gardens blogger Meg Gray worked on the project either, styling the embellished range to perfection, while photographer Darren McDonald shot the campaign. We caught up with Meg.

Jerico Mandybur: Can you tell us what your vibe was for the styling?
Meg Gray: A little bit 60s but we were having fun more than anything. It was very high summer, fun and frivolous more than being decade or theme-driven.

What was your favourite part about working on the project?
Working with the amazing team, and Jessie White [Shakuhachi designer] as well as playing with all the beautiful prints, colour and metallic leathers.

Favourite 60s fashion icon?
Talitha Getty.

What's the best piece in the collection?

Cruise 2012 is in store and online now!
