camilla and marc aw12 lookbook
It seems like sometimes designers throw influences and sources of inspiration around just to name drop and big up themselves. But in camilla and marc’s AW12 collection, ‘Paperback Lovers’, you can really see how it was informed by the clean and minimal style of glamazon women who existed before the term ‘glamazon’ was invented (i.e. in the sixties and seventies). camilla and marc’s retakes on the tuxedo were basically made for Bianca Jagger, who rocked it way better than her male counterparts back in the day. Can’t you just imagine her descending the stairs of a private jet, fresh from Marrakech, wearing the below? We can.
Ali Macgraw, Charlotte Rampling and Faye Dunaway are other women who play muse for camilla and marc this season, and you can easily see them wearing any of these garments. Minimal make-up, a gold chain around your neck and an oversized envelope clutch is really all you need. In fact, it makes anything else seem superfluous.
Can we also just talk about how amazing the floral print is? It’s like wearing a fruit punch and it’s entirely possible that you need the jacket n’ pant combo more than you need air.
