Carine Roitfeld Is Just Like Steve Jobs, Doesn't Eat A Lot

She also speaks about her looks, and upcoming collaboration with M.A.C.

Carine Roitfeld is obviously very invested in the imminent launch of her new magazine — so much so that she has compared herself to the late Steve Jobs. "I'm using new people, so I'm going to fight to make them stars. It's very risky. I like to take risks. It's very exciting in a way. It's a bit Steve Jobs, no? Each day is a new challenge to find the model, the photographer, the money, the location, you know?," she told Harpers Bazaar US.

She also spoke about her upcoming collaboration with M.A.C (who contributed to our 100th issue). "I think women can recognise themselves in that picture. They see 'Oh, she's not wearing too much makeup, she’s not too much dressed, she's not too much bizarre. She's very much like another woman—simple."

The ex-Vogue editrix and supreme stylist opened up about her looks (which have, in the past, been compared to those of the equally awesome Iggy Pop). "I'm not bad-looking, but I’m not a beauty either. I think I have character, and that is what people like in me." And how does a 57-year-old grandmother manage to have a body like that? "I don’t eat a lot, to be honest—never. I'm a bit like a little bird, picking all day long", she says. She's also taken up ballet classes, which have amazing "lifting" qualities — her seamstress had to alter the hemline on her clothing to make up for her increased booty. Duly noted.
