Céline Resort 2013 Lookbook

Phoebe Philo's refined 70s nostalgia.

There's a refined 70s nostalgia in Céline's Resort 2013 collection. This is to say, like everything Phoebe Philo does, she does it elegantly. Wide-legged pants — the focal point of the collection — recall Bianca Jagger jetsetting to Morocco or some such place. The pair with bands of colours at the ankles, in particular, are a Céline hit in the making.

Speaking of Céline hits, a variation on the label's coveted bandana print appears in easy breezy pants, skirts, blouses and scarves (aka bandanas, duh). Amongst crisp whites are nautical tones and forest green, as well as a leopard, and an amplified polka dot that in one instance almost looks like cow print. This season also sees the addition of two new styles of clutch bags — the 'All Soft', and the 'Edge', which are, as their names suggest, are soft and structured respectively.
