Chris Brown's Neck Tattoo Is NOT A Portrait of Rihanna
Or any other battered woman.
Chris Brown's recently-unveiled tattoo is nearly worthy of its own conspiracy theory. Since its debut, the singer's large neck adornment has spurred speculation that the tat could be depicting his former flame, Rihanna, and not in a good way. The seemingly bruised face of a woman on the side of Chris' neck has risen more than a few eyebrows, given his conviction three years ago for assaulting his then-girlfriend. The Women's Blog at The Guardian, for example, describes the tattoo as "sickening" and says that it "sends a terrible message".
Fortunately, Chris has cleared the air and confirmed that the tattoo does not represent Rihanna. The ink was inspired by a sugar skull — a symbol associated with the Mexican Day of the Dead celebration. He tweeted two hours ago, "I’m an artist and this is art. Dia de los Muertos."
Meanwhile, Rihanna has also got a new tattoo — a Goddess of Isis under her breasts in dedication to her grandmother.
