Courtney Love is Getting Evicted
Look inside her West Village townhouse.
Hole frontwoman and grunge icon, Courtney Love, has been evicted from her $27,000-a-month West Village Townhouse in New York. The suprising thing is that it wasn't because she threw a wild party and wrecked the joint but instead because she's developed a penchant for antiques and home decorating and painted and wallpapered the walls without her landlord's permission (thus wrecking the joint in a totally unexpected way). However, be reassured that you can't take the grunge out of the girl, because apparently other reasons for the eviction include her oweing over $50,000 in unpaid rent and accidentally setting fire to the master bedroom. The townhouse was bought by Donna Lyon and Astor Street Partners for $8 million from interior designer Steven Grambrel. Lyon claims it will take twelve weeks and $100,000 to reverse the damage.
Before getting evicted, Love has given a tour to xoJane.com (as you do). The house is four storeys high, with three bedrooms, five bathrooms and a prayer room. Love also has some pretty amazing keepsakes from her marriage to her late husband Kurt Cobain, including the bride and groom figurine from their wedding cake and an antique chair he gave her as a gift.
