Daisy Lowe's Playboy Shoot (Really NSFW)

Disorientingly hot and not overly clothed.
Daisy Lowe Playboy September 2011

Let it never be said that Playboy, the undisputed king of lad's mags, isn't intellectual. Last month, we reported that perennially underdressed lingerie model, rock-star spawn and Doctor Who–dater Daisy Lowe would be getting her kit off as the publication’s September centerfold. Well, the issue is now hot off the press and, in a highly cerebral move by Playboy's stylist (we use that term very, very loosely), Daisy features on the cover in latex lingerie studded with, you guessed it, daisies! The clever choice of floral arrangement is equalled only by an article that is as hard-hitting as it is incisive, citing that its subject is, among other things, "understated". Because "understated" is surely the most appropriate adjective to ascribe to a Playboy centerfold.

The character portrait painted by Playboy of the genetically blessed Lowe is an insightful glimpse into the girl behind the lens — “Daisy, 22, is disorientingly hot and not overly clothed.” Fortunately for us, it’s a description befitting the selection of modest, sun-drenched shots that make up the entire feature.

Daisy, who Playboy journalist Martin Deeson notes is "like a purple elephant in the room", had motives other than money for her latest foray into self-exhibitionism. In a refreshing breath of altruism, she has said, “I would like it if taking my clothes off made other women feel they can do the same.” A lesson we would all do well to learn.
