Plus, Australian sideshows announced for their 2013 Big Day Out tour!
Animal Collective have just added sideshows to their Big Day Out 2013 Australian Tour! They're playing Sydney's Enmore Theatre on 16 January and Melbourne's Palace Theatre on 23 January (with tickets going on sale this Friday via Penny Drop online and Ticketek).
To celebrate, we'd like to share the band's contribution to our 100th issue (on stands now). It is a playlist made by Geologist (aka Brian Weitz) based on a dream he had. As we explain in the magazine's index, "Animal Collective make music that can give you a headache if you aren't concentrating on it properly. Their tenth studio album, Centipede HZ, is out now. Geologist is one of the founding members of the band".
He says it probably wouldn't be very enjoyable to listen to, but we think it is a perfect insight into the depths of the subconscious, and very enjoyable indeed (plus some of the songs are so obscure that we can't even find codes to embed them!). Here it is:
