Exclusive: Maurie & Eve AW12 Campaign & Interview

"Tallulah Morton is the essence of youth — that girl is like an exotic animal."

Tomorrow, local label Maurie & Eve will launch its brand new online store. To celebrate, they've teamed up with one of their favourite Australian bloggers, Oracle Fox. For the rest of February, Oraclefox will takeover the Maurie & Eve blog with her favourite looks, trend predictions for next season, street style snaps and mood boards. Other guest editors will contribute throughout the year, so expect lots of cool content like seasonal style advice and curated playlists. The AW12 collection 'Someone Like You' will be available for purchase online, and to coincide with this, Maurie & Eve have released their first ever campaign starring Tallulah Morton. The online store will ship internationally, and the first sixty customers will receive an Essie nail polish for free with their purchase! Read our interview with the designers and have an exclusive first look at the AW12 campaign below.

Ingrid Kesa: What is it about Oracle Fox ? why did you want to work with her?

Maurie & Eve: We really loved the blog. Mandy has great taste and a good eye. She's very supportive of Australian designers too and we appreciate that. Maybe because she's an Aussie girl we felt the alignment was right. She also understands the brand and our customer and we wanted to support her vision too.

Can you tell us a bit about your new collection?

The Maurie & Eve girl constantly evolves from season to season. She's a chameleon of sorts, however the one consistent thing is she loves colour and prints!

Autumn was a collection based on opposing characteristics. We revealed a slightly darker side of the Maurie & Eve girl which we juxtaposed against floral prints and lighter colours to soften it up a little. There was also a slight sixties reference that came through in the styling. We take inspiration from everywhere. Mainly blogs, street style, magazines and definitely the people in our lives.

How does Tallulah represent the Maurie & Eve woman?

Tallulah Morton is the essence of youth — that girl is like an exotic animal. We've worked with her before and we love her energy and playfulness. She's young, cheeky, fresh, sexy and a true individual, just like the Maurie & Eve woman.

What are you most looking forward to this winter?

Definitely Coachella in April! Why not swap winter for a summer festival overseas?
