Yeojin Bae's AW12 collection, 'Line Force' is inspired by Art Nouveau elements of design and composition conceptualised by Flemish painter and architect Henry van de Velde in his 'line-force' theory. As such, the Korean-born Australian designer looks to the decorative and curvilinear aspects of this late 19th century art movement, playing with this same sense of perspective and composition in her approach to fashion. Some silhouettes are asymmetrical with hems slightly shorter at the front and longer at the back, while necklines are scooped and peplums provide structure. Never one for unnecessary fuss or over-adornment, 'Line Force' typifies the sophistication and classical design for which Yeojin Bae has become known.
