Fun Things To Do This Long Weekend!
In Sydney.
The Labour Day long weekend awaits us. We love a little holiday (who doesn't?) — so we've put together a list of the funnest shit going down over the next three days.
Saturday, 29 September
Freda's markets
Our friends at Freda's are throwing their first ever market day. Nay, market EXTRAVAGANZA. It kicks off at 10am and goes until 4pm, and will be held in collaboration with Dear Pluto, who are experts in the arena of vintage fashion. Please note that Freda's serves alcohol. Inebriated impulse purchases are the best kind of impulse purchases.
William St Laneway Festival
At the William St Laneway Festival in Paddington you'll be able to look at installations, drink more alcoholic beverages and shop from William St boutiques including the wonderful Corner Shop. Totes Paddington babes. It goes from 9am — 6pm.
Ginger & Smart Sale
They're having a warehouse sale from 10am — 2pm at 55 Mentmore Avenue in Rosebery. There will be up to 70% off AW12 and SS12 samples, with sweet summer stuff starting at a reasonable $80. There will also be leather accessories and candles. Go, go, go!
Good God's Birthday Party
The legends at Good God are celebrating their second birthday — you'll be able to get amongst a fine array of live entertainment including My Disco, The Laurels, Songs (check them out below, they're great), Pop Singles, Bloods and more, for just over $20. It goes from 6pm until LATE.
Sunday, 30 September
Parklife
Needs no explanation! Party on, Wayne.
All Women Hate Each Other
If you're heaps into culture, you might like to check out this panel discussion at the Opera House which is part of the Festival of Dangerous Ideas. It's all about the idea that "women are each others' harshest critics". Germaine Greer will be speaking along with some other experts. It goes from 12pm — 1pm, and costs $25.
Good God's Birthday Party, Take Two
The festivities of Saturday night are simply not enough — on Sunday night Good God will celebrate part two of their birthday. Michael Ozone (who made us a playlist) will play, along with the Slow Blow bros (see the Instagram we took of them shredding at Splendour below), Oyster #100 contributor Levins, Shantan, Perfect Snatch and other cool dudes.

Monday, 1 October
Go to a house where it rains inside!
As part of Art & About, James Dive has created an installation involving a house that rains inside as a comment on the disintegration of relationships in the domestic sphere. Raincoats provided. It's on the Corner of Macquarie St and St James Rd in the city and is open from 11am — 6pm.
Go to the beach!
Cleanse your sins in the ocean. With a forecast of 'mostly sunny', we recommend Red Leaf, Gordon's Bay or Little Bay (below — another Kodak moment via Instagram) for the best Sydney beach times. Remember to pack sunscreen and snacks.
