Gucci's New Australian Flagship
Opening tomorrow, with a limited edition Sydney collection.
To celebrate the opening of Gucci's new flagship store in Sydney tomorrow, creative director Frida Giannini has designed a limited edition Sydney collection. The designs will be sold exclusively in the new store, located in the Westfield Shopping Centre along Castlereagh Street. The collection includes a ladies Boston bag, overnight duffle bag, ladies scarf, wrist wallet, and Australian animal key chains, all in the iconic Gucci GG print. Our favourite is the super cute Gucci Koala, limited to 15 pieces. Sales of the Sydney collection will benefit the Australian Childhood Foundation, which provides vital assistance to children throughout Australia suffering from abuse.
Giannini's store design concept recalls the Art Deco era with geometric lines including Gucci's signature web striping and materials of rosewood, marble, polished gold, smoked mirrors and everything else you'd imagine in a Gucci flagship. Giannini explains "I wanted to amplify the luxuriousness of the boutique's environment and to create an aesthetic, which is complementary to the vision of the House today," Even if you can't afford to buy, there's no harm in looking. The store opens tomorrow on Level 3 at Westfield Sydney.
