H&M to Open in Sydney & Melbourne

They're the latest overseas high-street retailer to grace our shores.

H&M will bring their nirvana of high-street fashions to Australia. Bill Rooney, the Chief Executive of retail consultancy group 6one5, said that his real estate contacts had been approached by H&M in Sydney and Melbourne, The Daily Telegraph reports.

The Swedish retailer has apparently selected Melbourne to make its Australian debut. The question, though, is where exactly, with the perfect space for the first store currently under negotiation. H&M has been checking out Chadstone Shopping Centre and The Emporium Site in the city. It'll be hot competition as to who will score H&M as a tenant, with Bill saying, "There is a big footprint there for the international retailers, and to have a tenant like H&M would be pretty awesome."

Hopefully we'll get to see all those collabs in the flesh too, like H&M x Versace (above), H&M x Marni and H&M x Maison Martin Margiela.

Topshop and Topman recently confirmed that they'll open their doors in Sydney this October. Zara have confirmed that a second Sydney store will take shape over at Bondi Junction, and will expand into Chadstone and Doncaster in Victoria. While this is all pretty great (especially for our bank balances), let's not forget the little guys!
