House of Liza
A "divinely decadent" vintage shop.
House of Liza is a vintage shop in East London. If you're picturing a run-of-the-mill, moth-ball infested establishment, think again. The best way to describe it is to use a phrase penned by the House's namesake, the one and only Liza Minelli - "divinely decadent". Much like Minelli's penchant for sheer flares and sequins (lots of sequins), the store's owner, costume designer Goncala Velosa, is interested in fashion as theatre. Over the years he has acquired an impressive collection of both avant-garde couture and iconic street-wear. While some of his pieces come from the sixties and seventies, the bulk hail from the late eighties and early nineties.
