James Franco Making a Movie About Lindsay Lohan?

Or something to that effect.

Relatively speaking it's been a while since we've had a James Franco update, but that's probably because the one thing he hasn't tried his hand at — the Olympics — has allowed him a well-deserved break. With the closing ceremony done and dusted and the athletes homeward bound, the perennial polymath has resurfaced again — this time with rumours of a movie/art project tied to Lindsay Lohan.

James is reportedly listed on the industry site Actor's Access as the director of this "art project", in which he has put a call-out for "Lindsay Lohan types" (oh, the fun they could have with that character description).

He's also apparently on the hunt for "James Franco types", looking to cast both characters at various stages in life — 13, 21, 30, and 60-years-old. Considering Li-Lo is actually 26 (26! Crazy!), her 60-year-old incarnation would be somewhat terrifying. Magda from Something About Mary might be a starting point? Or perhaps Donatella Versace? And let's not forget that earlier this year, paparazzi mistook her for a 66-year-old Debbie Harry.

If only they were actually playing themselves, or a glossier version of themselves (Dave Franco, who we interviewed for #97, and Emma Stone?), then it could be box office gold and James wouldn't have to be a student/artist anymore.

Check Oyster online tomorrow to see James' contribution to our 100th issue.
