Julia Nobis & Ruby Jean at the Australians in New York Fashion Foundation Awards

Only Julia could get away with wearing Converse to a cocktail party.

Last night, the Australians in New York Fashion Foundation revealed the latest winners of their annual, highly sought after internship at fancy champagne bar One Moncur in Woollahra. At the cocktail party, Julia Nobis and Ruby Jean were joined by judges such as Dion Lee and Malcolm Carfrae (Executive Vice President of Global Communications at Calvin Klein), along with media guests and local designers Camilla Freeman Topper and Christopher Esber to hear the announcement. The award went to Melbourne designer Natasha Fagg and Perth based menswear designer Tim Watson, each scoring a cool 20K and six month stint overseas.

The Foundation also made the announcement that it will expand into Europe following a new sponsorship from Woolmark, and that it will re-brand itself as the Australian Fashion Foundation.

If you think you are good at fashion and deserve lots of money get applying for the 2013/2014 internship grants stat!
