Levi's x Moca

Graffitied jackets as elusive as the artists they celebrate.

The Levi's Film Workshop opened to the Los Angeles public at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Sunday as part of the Art in the Streets exhibition. Examining the development of street art and culture, the Film Workshop will feature a series of collaborative film and video projects.

One of the most exciting pairings within this extensive project of partnerships is between Levi's and MOCA, who will produce a series of limited edition Trucker Jackets featuring original artwork from ten artists whose works appear in Art in the Streets. The iconic American jackets are fitting canvasses for an exhibition exploring the intersection between street art and corporate America. Printed with the works of graffiti greats Neck Face, Kenny Scharf, KR, Chaz Bojorquez, Crash, Lady Pink, Andre, Revok, Shepard Fairey and Keith Haring, they will be released in chronological order from when each artist began in the field.

The first three designs went on sale at the MOCA on Sunday, and put all the DIY denim endeavours of our teenage years to shame. At $250 the trippy Truckers aren't cheap, but they come in a special Levi's x MOCA box commemorating the exhibition and all proceeds go towards benefiting MOCA and its community programmes. And with only 50 of each design being released, be prepared to set your upper price limit substantially higher if you're hoping to find any on eBay.
