LFW FW13 Backstage: Topshop Unique
Kicking it with Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn.
Yesterday Topshop Unique presented their FW13 collection at London Fashion Week. The collection took cues from iconic workwear, incorporating oversized outerwear shapes with clever twists on classics e.g. a boiler suit in soft pink silk was more magnificent than manual labour. Textures were contrasted in the one look — sequins sat alongside shearling, patent was paired with matte.
Topshop Unique also looked to a British institution for inspiration — the pub. Digital florals were inspired by Victorian pub wallpapers, and Wedgewood blue prints were based on traditional British carpets.
Kate Bosworth, Pixie Geldof and Harley Viera Newton (who we interviewed for Oyster #98) sat front row, while FW13 favourites Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn walked the runway.
