Listen: The Flaming Lips x Yoko Ono
Amazingly strange.
Most people just leave New Years Eve parties with a hangover and some foggy memories. This was not the case for the 2000 lucky attendees of The Flaming Lips Freak Out #5 in Oklahoma City, who left with a limited edition, psychedelic glow-in-the-dark vinyl record of the band's collaboration with Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band. The one-off collaboration EP was sold out at the show, but luckily for those of us who attended less awesome New Years events, all four songs on the EP - including the previously released 'Atlas Eets Christmas', have been unearthed on YouTube. If you feel your Friday morning would greatly benefit from some freak-out Yoko Ono vocals interrupting droning guitars ('The Fear of Litany'), lo-fi fuzz and even freakier chants ('Do It!') or pleasantly futuristic melodies ('Brain of Heaven'), stream the tracks below. They're as excellent as they are strange.
