Luke Byrne's 'Stills From Imaginary Films' Exhibition

Opens tomorrow at Gallery 2010, Sydney.

Luke Byrne's photographs are nostalgic for a time just passed or still present. That backyard gig you went to last weekend rendered beautiful through filtered yellow light; a gorgeous mess in a tribal shroud walking through the desert; the view from the back seat of your friend's car on the way to nowhere in particular.

His photographs turns ordinary scenes into mini-mythologies. The Sydney-based fashion and music photographer, and self-confessed cinephile, is launching his debut solo exhibition, 'Stills From Imaginary Films', tomorrow night at Gallery 2010 in Surry Hills. The collection forms an imagined narrative told through still images that invoke the dreamlike atmosphere of The Virgin Suicides and the timeless quirk of Wes Anderson's films.

Gallery 2010 is located at 69 Reservoir Street. The opening kicks off tomorrow from 6-8pm, and the show will continue through to:
Friday July 13, 6–8pm
Saturday July 14, 10am–4pm
Sunday July 15, 11am–3pm

Here's a teaser for the show!

There'll also be a limited edition run of posters and exclusive mixtape for those who arrive early on the opening night.
