Marc Jacobs Named Creative Director of Diet Coke
A great day for fashion and delicious beverages alike.
Marc Jacobs has been named the new Creative Director of delicious miscellaneous liquid, Diet Coke. He takes over from John Paul Gaultier for 2013's 'sparkling together for 30 years' campaign which celebrates three decades of Diet Coke in Europe. Remembering that the designer himself starred in his own Bang fragrance ads wearing nothing but a novelty-sized perfume bottle, it makes sense that Mr. Jacobs also appears (shirtless) in the Diet Coke campaign.
Under Marc Jacobs' creative direction, three limited edition Diet Coke cans and bottles inspired by the 80s and 90s will be available throughout Europe and the UK from next month onwards. Featuring designs shot by Stéphane Sednaoui, Marc Jacobs describes the packaging as "whimsical" and "feminine" — two of his specialities.
