Meet the Models — Eliza Baker
Legs longer than your entire body.
We met Eliza Baker at the MBFWA casting we held with Mark Vassallo and Yimmy Yayo. To quote our Market Editor Ana Ifould: "Look at her legs! They are longer than my entire body!" They were probably some of the longest legs I have ever seen.
Ingrid Kesa: How long have you been with Viviens for?
Eliza Baker: I got spotted when I was 13 about to turn 14.
What were you doing when you got scouted?
I was actually at a convention centre and my mother agent from Busy Models spotted me and that’s how I got through to Viviens.
Was it a Star Wars convention?
[Laughs]. No, it was at the Gold Coast. I live at the Gold Coast.
How old are you?
16.
So you’ve been modeling for three years. What’s your favourite job that you’ve done so far?
I love the runway.
So you’ve walked at Fashion Week before?
Only little events at the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
Do you think your walk went well just then for Mark?
Not really, I think I stuffed it up. I keep slipping out of my shoes!
I’m sure you did fine!
Uh, I don’t know...
Who do you dream of walking for this year? Is there one designer that you just love?
I’m not sure. I love everyone. I love everyone’s different clothing and everyone’s different ideas. I love everyone’s work so I’d go for anyone really.
Is hard to be at school and do modeling?
Sometimes it’s hard. I’m up here for a month so in my spare time I have to read and do my homework.
What do your parents think of you modeling?
They’re really proud.
