M.I.A. Reveals Album Details on Twitter
'Matangi' will be released this December, sounds like "Paul Simon on acid."
MIA has been answering questions from her fans via Twitter, and has revealed more information about her upcoming album in the process. Following the release of 'Bad Girls' and 'Come Walk With Me', the sultry Sri Lankan has said that Matangi will be out this December.
She also tweeted tid-bits of vague yet entertaining trivia. The album could be between five to 15 songs but it "depends on what sounds good in my bros CAR." It is also going to sound like "Paul Simon on acid." When a fan asked if the new album would be "FIERCE", MIA stated, "No one in the industry collected blows in the last 3 years as much as me, this is a fuck you to them and a thank you to you." She says she'll only be working with producers “that don’t act like a fame whore coloniser." This last statement could possibly be a dig at Madonna's producer William Orbit who worked on 'Baby', or her ex-boyfriend Diplo (who we interviewed for Oyster #98), who laid into the singer's "whole terrorism gimmick" in a New York Times article.
MIA also published a tracklist teaser in the form of an obscured (and glowing!) graphic:

Fans also have an autobiography, a documentary, and an art exhibition to look forward to in the near future. 2012 is officially the year of the Bad Girl!
