Milan Fashion Week Review & Runway Gallery: Jil Sander
Like back-to-school wear for the fashionably elite.
After an eight-year hiatus, Jil Sander is back designing for the brand that is her namesake, but no longer her own. She made a triumphant return at Milan Fashion Week on Saturday and stayed true to her pure and simplistic aesthetic, a legacy she started all those years ago. However now she has a few competitors in this domain, most notably her very own successor/predecessor Raf Simons and Céline’s Phoebe Philo. If the Spring collection is anything to go by, though, she has nothing to worry about. We loved the clean lines, the perfect white shirts and the colour palette. In particular we loved those zip-up boots and when they arrive in stores next February we know won’t be the only ones queuing up for them.
