Million Dollar Babies

Burberry, Opening Ceremony and Isabel Marant do kidswear.

The Satorialist's snaps of 'stylish' children make me a little squeamish. Their nautical tee's and tiny Converse clad feet give me the Child's-Play-chills (and the dimple-freckle combo isn't doing them any favours), but the latest kidswear collections from Burberry, Opening Ceremony and Isabel Marant will have even the frostiest of skeptics cooing over a wish-list wardrobe of miniature mode.

Over the weekend Opening Ceremony launched a dedicated Kids category to their online store, coinciding with the release of their latest collabortaion with Hong Kong kidswear maestro's, A for Apple. OC by A for Apple is a cool collection of teeny-tiny patchwork oxford shirts, skater skirts and leopard print jeggings. The new range will be in good company, with Jean Paul Gaultier Bebe, Repetto and Bonton (a Sophia Coppola favourite) rounding out their online offering.

It seems business is booming for the not-so-niche market as Burberry will also be releasing a new children's collection this month. The Autumn Winter '11 range is a carefully curated selection of iconic staples from the Burberry archive - zapped with a shrink ray. Quilted jackets, military inspired detailing and the house's signature check blend together in a rainbow of popping Crayola colour.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any cuter, French designer Isabel Marant lends her midas touch to a children's diffusion line jam-packed full of her signature sheer tunics, pyjama pants and paisley-print beachwear executed in all-natural fabrications.

Looks like there's a hole in the market for some web-savvy toddler to make a name for themselves snapping the sudden influx of sandbox chic. Hmm, where's Rick Moranis when you need him?
