Melbourne Spring Fashion Week kicked off last night with a series of shows from the likes of Arnsdorf, Therese Rawsthorne and Gary Bigeni, and Oyster and Melbourne blogger Oh Jamie! went along to check it out. Click on images to see them in gallery mode.
Arnsdorf showed digital jewel prints and multi-faceted structural pieces. Here we saw our first mishap with a model suddenly losing her heels on the catwalk!

Gary Bigeni concentrated on draping, colour blocking, and simplicity.

Dhini contrasted tough utilitarian details with jerseys and silks.

Alistair Trung introduced bold and feathered accessories with jerseys, knits, and geometric prints.

Kuwaii modernised the classic shirts, trenches and blazers with unexpected cutouts.

MATERIALBYPRODUCT revealed exposed stitching and elements of deconstruction in their voluminous collection.

Alice Euphemia broke up the muted tones with striking colours and graphics from Romance Was Born and Tina Kalivas.

Therese Rawsthorne closed the show with intricate beading, subtle shoulder padding and hidden hardware and bondage detail.
