Mulberry Turns Forty

A special book for a special birthday.

The best birthday presents are those you give to yourself. English luxury accessories brand Mulberry certainly thinks so, announcing the release of a coffee table book (appropriately entitled 'Mulberry') to mark the occasion of its fortieth anniversary. Three years in creation, the book pays homage to the Mulberry's fashionable, forty year journey; from humble beginnings as a traditional English hunting/shooting/fishing brand to a multi-national, luxury fashion house. Although not everyone gets a book printed in their honour on their 40th birthday, it can be said that Mulberry certainly deserve it.

The final product is set for release on May 26 and encompasses 480 glossy, never before seen images which servet to shed some light on both private and public aspects of Mulberry life. Photographer Venetia Dearden worked under the creative direction of Georgia Fendley to capture candid moments in the everyday running of the company. With a distinct 'access all areas' approach, the book contains behind the scenes images of Mulberry's thriving Somerset factory including creative director Emma Hill alongside regular contributors and, of course, intimate photos of the brand's favourite models and celebrities. Florence Welch, Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo and Gemma Arterton are photographed enjoying Mulberry's relaxed take on high fashion.

If you've got your heart set on claiming one of these as your own, you'll have to be speedy and maybe even a little stealthy. Ten copies of the book will be distributed to the Mulberry store in Sydney Westfield, available for purchase on May 26.
