mulberry's foxy campaign video
Watch models wear pretty clothes in a dilapidated manor overrun with foxes and giant birds.
Whether it's panthers, stuffed toys or Danish babes wearing quilted leather cat suits, felines are currently at the head of the pack as far as fashion's concerned. Although, cats are the obvious choice when it comes to fitting in with the fashion pack ? they're elegant, they're not afraid of resorting to devious means to get what they want, and they spend excessive amounts of time grooming themselves.
But if there's one member of the canine family that can give cats a run for their money, it's the fox. And Fantastic Mr Fox, the most cunning yet kind-hearted fox of all, is who Mulberry culled inspiration from for their playful yet darkly humoured Fall 2011 collection. On the runway Mulberry's English roses sauntered down the runway to a mash-up of George Clooney's film script, but in the just-released campaign video the soundtrack is provided by the song 'Animal' from Swedish indie-pop heroes Miike Snow.
The short film is shot by director Luke Losey, under the creative direction of Ronnie Cooke Newhouse and Stephen Wolstenholme of House and Holme. The result is a visually resplendent, live 3D environment where the clothes (and, of course, those luxe leather handbags) somehow manage to avoid taking a back seat to their eclectic surroundings. To see the opulent collection in motion, and wish that you lived in a dilapidated mansion overrun with wild foxes and weird 2D cut-outs of birds the size of rhinoceroses, play the video below.
