New Clothes for Boys and Girls
Antipodium x Sportsgirl and Vanishing Elephant!
We've had high/low collaborations and overseas chains descending upon us in throngs in recent months, but no news has been so exciting as the upcoming Antipodium collaboration with Sportsgirl. Any brand that counts Alexa Chung and model Valentine Fillol-Cordier as fans is worthy of battling Zara-sized lines for based on this fact alone, but Antipodium isn't just really cool - it's also got roots planted firmly in our own home turf.
This is part of the collaboration's appeal for designer and Aussie ex-pat Geoffrey J Finch, who wanted to pay homage to his sunny heritage while also referencing his East London neighbourhood. In true Antipodium style the collection is androgynous and slightly irreverent - if you look closely, you can see a bespectacled Finch hidden amongst the bandana-inspired print.

Always ahead of the game, Antipodium were also one of the first ones to recognise the appeal of New York Magazine's latest coverboy Andrej Pejic, who opened their show at RAFW in 2009 before words like "gender bender" and "femiman" were tossed around like spaghetti.

However, if you're a) a dude, and b) not into women's clothing, perhaps Vanishing Elephant's latest offering is more up your alley. Offering quality wares to dapper gents since 2009, the Sydney-based label's new collection One and One has an Antipodium-style mischievous appeal. With a colour palette that mixes bold Aztec, paisley and monogram prints with the refined shades the brand is known for, the three guys behind VE have satisfied the dual demand well-cut classics and kooky originality.

They're also doing some pretty sweet kicks, so if you're not into wearing loud paisley prints under a smart suit then consider a pair of blue suede shoes that would Elvis proud.
