New Order Touring
Will die-hard Joy Division fans buy tickets?
It's a question that everyone has had to answer at least once: Joy Division, or New Order? While those with a more traditionalist streak will stick well and truly to their Joy Division guns, but if you're open to change (in the form of added synthesisers and a new frontman) New Order are the band for you. Make your choice! (Or, alternatively, love them both equally - in which case you run the risk of being shunned by the purists of either school.)
Set to co-headline Future Music Festival this year, it could be said that New Order are experiencing a resurgence of late, after a hiatus that could be seen by some as far too long. If it's intimacy you're after, you'll appreciate that the band are set to do two sideshows alongside the festival, one in Sydney and one in Melbourne. Get ready to hear all the classics, and if you believe the rumors, a rendition of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' that is sure to ruffle a few feathers!
For old times' sake:
Tour dates:
Melbourne, March 1 at Festival Hall, Melbourne.
Sydney, March 7 at Hordern Pavilion, Sydney.
