new tarantino script: django unchained

We built a profile of Tarantino based on the handwriting on his latest script.

On Tuesday 26 April, Quentin Tarantino finished his latest script, titled Django Unchained. Somewhere between then and now, some unscrupulous gent or crooked lass managed to get their filthy mitts on it and leak it online. A mere ten days after it was finalised, Tarantino thus finds himself and his script at the mercy of a whole host of blog commentaries, with reviews flitting from avid praise to accusations of flagrant self-indulgence (as an aside, why would anyone be surprised that Tarantino is being self-indulgent?). If you have Internet skills, you can probably find the leaked script online, but we're not going to woo lawsuits by posting it here. Instead, you can read reviews of the script if you like, but perhaps you consider it premature to assess a film based on a combinations of the preliminary version of its script and an assortment of wild online rumours.

Out of all the aspects of the project so far ? including Will Smith casting rumours! ? the Internet seems to be most fascinated by Tarantino's script cover and, more specifically, his handwriting:

Django Unchained

Considering the interest, we sent the cover to a graphologist (with 'Quentin Tarantino' blacked out, of course ? we believe in scientific objectivity), who completed a personality test based on his scribble. While graphology has lost some of its popularity since its peak in the seventies (amidst objections of 'vagueness' and a 'lack of scientific validity'), the Australian Institute of Graphology asserts that such expertise can be used to analyse relationships, aptitude, career counselling and forensic examination. This is the profile based on Tarantino's hand:

You have a great need for other people to like and admire you. You have a tendency to be critical of yourself. You have a great deal of unused capacity which you have not turned to your advantage. While you have some personality weaknesses, you are generally able to compensate for them. Disciplined and self-controlled outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure inside. At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations. You pride yourself as an independent thinker and do not accept others' statements without satisfactory proof. You have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. At times you are extroverted, affable, sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary, reserved. Some of your aspirations tend to be pretty unrealistic. Security is one of your major goals in life.

How spot-on!
