New Tumblr iPhone App Has GIFs, MTV Reaches 1 Million Instagram Followers
A great day for the internet.
The brand new Tumblr iPhone app has a flurry of new features which indicate that the future is imminent. There's bigger images, a new notification panel that shows you precisely who has reposted which of your forever-brilliant posts, and profile pages with user portraits and descriptions. But the most exciting part is what happens to GIFs — not only will they animate automatically in your feed, but you'll also be able to view the GIFs frame-by-frame by swiping the screen left to right. Cue the Tumblr generation never turning off their phones.
Meanwhile over in Instaland, MTV has hit the million-follower mark on Instagram — the first for a company. (Justin Bieber was the first individual to be followed by a million users, proving unequivocally that people love looking at other people's selfies, especially if they contain the face of Justin Bieber. See Fig. 1).
With Instagram Web Profiles now active, Instagram is far on its way to taking over the internet. Not to mention Beyoncé has just joined, so there.
