Oyster #100 On Sale Now!
Get the low down on our special collector's issue here.
Did you know that Oyster magazine is older than the internet? In 1994, the year that Oyster was conceived, Justin Bieber was born, Kurt Cobain committed suicide (not related), Oasis released their debut album Definitely Maybe, Party of Five aired on TV, and 7-Eleven invented the term 'brain freeze' to explain the pain one feels when drinking a Slurpee too fast.
Fast forward 18 years and a lot has changed. Like all teenagers, we've tried on different identities over the years and changed the way we look. But tomorrow, we celebrate something big, something amazing, something awesome and epic — our 100th issue. This is history.
For this issue we gave it our all. We asked 100 visionaries from all over the world to contribute their own interpretation of the theme DREAM. Our most talented contributors — writers, artists and photographers — from the past and present are involved, along with the likes of James Franco, Catherine Martin, Karl Lagerfeld, David Lynch, former senator Bob Brown, Olivia Newton-John, The Coquette, Alice Dellal, environmentalist David de Rothschild and many more.
Not only is the 100th issue filled with the dreams of our favourite dreamers, it also comes in a special-edition, 240-page format (meaning it will look great on your coffee table and could aid potential hook ups with romantic interests — you're welcome).
Thank you for being our friend for a whole hundred issues! We look forward to the next hundred, and the hundred after that.
