Oyster Exclusive: Carly Hunter AW12 Lookbook
See the whole 'Corporeal' collection here.
Do you remember Magic Eye optical illusions from when you were a kid? Those things were awesome - what's not to love about a 3D dolphin jumping through the rings of Saturn? Carly Hunter clearly thinks so too, using them as the basis for one of the prints in her AW12 offering, which appears on pants and numerous skirts. A collection called 'Corporeal', it is in part inspired by the word's literal meaning (that being a fleshly existence over a spiritual one), so there's a lot of playing with textiles and textures, and it is part inspired by the Broadcast song of the same name. The pale palette is broken up with burnt orange, while the shapes take cues from sportswear. Stand-out pieces include the wrap skirts which could be described as "nifty" if you were that way inclined, the boxy taffeta dresses, floppy shearling vests and simple draped coats which build on those seen in AW11.
