Oyster Exclusive: We Are Handsome X Natalia Horinkova
I wanted a ballerina; a soft look with lots of movement, energy and emotion.
Sydney-based swimwear label We Are Handsome ? stocked at Net-A-Porter and Opening Ceremony ? launched A Handsome Project over a year ago, aiming to showcase the work of different photographers. Contributors are given creative freedom in styling and shooting the body canvases (swimmers) any way they like to demonstrate the breadth of the brand, which is loved by everyone from M.I.A to Miranda Kerr and Nicki Minaj. We showed you what Zanita Whittington created when she was behind the lens, and this time around 8 largely self-taught photographer Natalia Horinkova. Taking Kobi Collins as her flame-haired tiny dancer, Horinkova was inspired by ballet in creating her imagery, shot down the coast on Wollongong, telling us, "I have a dancing background and always wanted to shoot with a dancer. I love dancing. I wish that instead of running somewhere, I could just dance my way there. For the project I knew I wanted ballerina. I wanted a soft look with lots of movement, energy and emotion."
