Pinterest + Instagram = Pinstagram
This is what happens when “two of the fastest growing, and hottest web properties” have a baby.
Pek Pongpaet and Brandon Leonardo are probably the world’s next gazillionaires. Last week they jokingly threw around the idea of combining Instagram and Pinterest, and a few days later Frankenstein cyber-baby Pinstagram was born. As they explain on the website, Instagram and Pinterest are “two of the fastest growing, and hottest web properties” and thought it would be a “funny concept” to chuck them together.
Pinstagram borrows the waterfall layout of Pinterest, but its content comes from your Instagram account. Even though Instagram was originally developed as an iPhone app, there have been plenty of other enterprising individuals to think, “Hey, why don’t I create a way to view Instagram on a desktop?” (among them Webstagram, Statigram, Followgram and InstaProf) — but what those guys were missing was the catchy name.
