Polaroid Launch Instant Digital Camera
With ink-less print technology!
Shaking it like a Polaroid picture will no longer be necessary, with the launch of Polaroid's Z2300 Instant Digital Camera, which has an in-built printer that pops out your photos in under a minute! That's only just enough time to update your Instagram feed! The new product from the oldie-but-goodie brand was launched at a New York trade show earlier this week, where the company showed off the camera's 2x3 inch instant digital photos, which are produced using ink-free 'Zero Ink' (or ZINK) technology.
"What ho? No ink?" you might say. That's right grandpa, it's 2012. Allow us to break it down. ZINK uses heat to activate your usual cyan, yellow and magenta crystals of dye, which are embedded in layers inside the paper. Not just any paper either: insanely strong paper that's moisture and UV-proof and cannot be smudged! Also, they have a peel-off sticky strip on the back. Also, post your pics directly to your Facebook. Hello, 50 identical pictures of Señor Mittens! (Or whatever your pet's name is.)
It comes in either a black or white shell and will begin shipping to the US from August. It'll set you back US$159.99. But wait, there's more. You'll get 10 free sheets of Polaroid ZINK paper! After that, the paper costs $25 for a pack of 50 or $15 for a pack of 30. That's pretty reasonable when you consider how pricey ye olde analog instant was getting towards the end there, when the only people using it were the obscure and the elderly.
