The PR Girl - Ginger & Smart

So Ginger & Smart's show was just lovely - all ruffles and drapes with cuts and colours that look as though they have come straight out of a dream. But we know it takes more than just the designers to put on a show - there's the stylist, the models, the hair and makeup artists and then of course the PRs. And then there's the vodka! That last one is crucial.

Ginger & Smart was put on by Marie-Claude Mallat, and we had a chat with Chrissie Chu backstage after the show before we offered her some Valium. Kidding! We would never do that.

Oyster: So what has the last week been like for you?
Chrissie Chu: It's been absolutely crazy! We've had to take care of the seating, the RSVPs, and then we have a big hand in the production as well so we have been doing hair and makeup trials, model castings....

And you could go on. So what's next?
Well we had Marnie Skillings last week and we have two more shows this week - Zimmerman tomorrow and Kate Sylvester on Wednesday. It's straight back to the office right now...

And I'm guessing you'll be hitting the bottle hard come Wednesday?
Well we haven't gotten that far yet! I think we'll be too tired to party. We usually go for a team dinner two weeks after the show is over.

They sure wait longer than we ever could. Let's all join hands and wish them luck for the rest of the week. Now, if you'll excuse us, it's started raining so we're going to go and cry about the future of our suede shoes before we hit Zambesi later this afternoon.
