Samsung to Launch Music Hub in Australia
Samsung takes a bite of Apple's apple?
After Apple's efforts to monopolise online music sales and new technology in general over the past decade, other corporations have been forced to make poor imitations, flail and die... or come up with something better. Samsung may have just done that with the Samsung Music Hub to be launched in Australia on the 17th of October. Basically, it's a subscription based music app that gives you unlimited access to over 3 million songs from most major record labels, and this number is expected to rise to 6 million by Christmas. It allows you to browse and play the latest genres, artists and music charts and stream high quality music over a WiFi and 3G connection. You can also create an infinite amount of live streaming playlists, each of which can contain up to 13 hours of listening time. It's compatible with all Macs and PCs and when used on Samsung GALAXY Tablets and Samsung GALAXY Smartphones you can download the music straight to your device (which means you don't have to be connected to a network to play it).
The service will cost $9.99 a month for mobile use and $14.99 for premium access on up to four devices. Much better than paying the same amount for a single album on iTunes. Just sayin'. It could almost be the best thing since Napster (and a bit more legit).
